Nonprofit branding design for some familiar faces.

Nonprofit branding guidelines created for Encore NYC

Since 1977 Encore Community Services has provided seniors in New York City with a range of caring and quality services to help them live independent and dignified lives. They are located in Midtown Manhattan and have a high visibility both in their location, and clientele (many former Broadway and entertainment luminaries). Providing high caliber marketing services for non-profit organizations is one of pondSoup's specialities, so Encore contacted us when they were considering updating their branding.

We worked with their marketing and communications team to create an updated logo design and brand identity, encapsulated in a brand style guide. The Encore style guide outlines logo, font, color, graphic, and image usage rules for print and digital design. This will insure brand continuity through all their marketing efforts moving forward.

Clear communication was our primary goal. Serving an older population, in a large city, means everything needs to be accessible and understandable. We also wanted a bright, invigorating feel. So we blended these two considerations, with a nod to the neighborhood, to come up with a bold yet welcoming look and feel to carry the organization forward.

One element of brand style guides we include is marketing collateral design examples, to show how the elements could work together in a finished product. This helps our clients make font and color decisions in-context. For Encore, we worked up business card designs to illustrate their options - one of which they liked so much, with some tweaks, it will go into production.
